Overview of Notification
The Jharkhand TET notification was released on 28 March 2026. The examination is conducted by the Jharkhand Academic Council, Ranchi for determining eligibility for teacher recruitment in primary (Class 1–5) and upper primary (Class 6–8) schools.
Candidates can access detailed information regarding eligibility, qualifications, syllabus, language, and criteria on the official website. The online application forms are invited from eligible candidates.
According to the official notification, candidates who had filled the form earlier must fill it again because the examination was not conducted. However, such candidates will not have to pay the fee again.
Application forms are invited from 21 April 2026 to 21 May 2026.
Eligibility Criteria
Basic Conditions
- The candidate must be a citizen of India.
- The candidate must not have been convicted by any competent court in a criminal case.
Educational and Training Qualification
- Qualifications must be as per Notification No. 487 dated 26-03-2026 (Jharkhand TET Rules 2026).
- Candidates belonging to SC/ST, PVTG, OBC (Category 1 & 2), and PwD will get 5% relaxation in minimum qualifying marks as per training session norms.
- Candidates must ensure that they fulfill all eligibility conditions before applying.
- Minimum eligibility must be possessed on the date of notification publication.
Appearing Candidates
- Candidates who are appearing in the required training qualification exam are also allowed to apply.
- However, they must submit proof of qualification completion before the result declaration as per the prescribed timeline.
Important Clarification
- Permission to appear in the exam does not confirm eligibility.
- Final verification will be done at the time of recruitment by the concerned authority.
Improvement Attempt
- A candidate can appear multiple times to improve their score.
Age Limit
- Minimum Age: 21 years (as on 1 August of the exam year)
- Maximum Age: As per government service rules of Jharkhand
Age Relaxation
- Para-teachers working under Jharkhand Education Project Council will get relaxation equivalent to their service period (maximum up to 58 years).
- One-time age relaxation is also applicable based on the gap between previous and current TET exams.
Exam Levels
The examination will be conducted at two levels:
- Level 1: Primary (Class 1 to 5)
- Level 2: Upper Primary (Class 6 to 8)
Candidates can appear for both levels.
Exam Duration
- Duration for both levels: 2 hours 30 minutes
- Extra time: 30 minutes for visually impaired, cerebral palsy, or candidates with both-hand disabilities (with scribe facility)
Exam Language
- Question papers will be available in Hindi and English.
- Language subjects will be in the respective language.
- Medium of exam: Hindi or English
Syllabus and Difficulty Level
- Level 1 questions will be based on Class 1–5 syllabus, but the difficulty level will be up to secondary level.
- Level 2 questions will be based on Class 6–8 syllabus, but the difficulty level will be up to higher secondary level.
Candidates must have proper knowledge of language and grammar and should be able to express correctly.

Nature of Exam
- All questions will be objective type (MCQs)
- Answers must be marked on OMR sheet
- No negative marking
- Instructions on OMR sheet must be followed carefully
- Any incorrect marking or tampering may lead to cancellation of candidature
OMR Instructions
- Answers must be filled completely using black or blue ink
- Improper marking will result in rejection of that answer
- Re-evaluation or rechecking of OMR sheets will not be allowed after result declaration

Application Process
- Applications must be filled online only
- All details must be filled carefully
- No corrections will be allowed after submission
- Admit card and result will be generated based on submitted details
Admit Card & Exam Date
- Admit card download date and exam date will be announced later
- Admit cards will not be sent via post
Verification and Cancellation
- All details will be verified at the time of recruitment
- If any information is found incorrect or misleading:
- Candidature will be cancelled even after passing the exam
- The candidate will be responsible
Misconduct Rules
- Candidates involved in malpractice will be debarred from the next two exams
Certificate Validity
- Qualification in Jharkhand TET does not guarantee a job
- It is only an eligibility test
- Certificate validity depends on verification of qualifications and documents
